The pharmacist will review and screen patient medication records for safety while preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with regulatory standards. They will also provide drug information to healthcare professionals and supervise pharmacy support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Candidates must hold a B.S. in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE accredited institution. Current licensure as a pharmacist in the practicing state is required, with previous experience preferred.
Ensure cost-effective pharmacotherapy contributes to optimal patient outcomes, provide experiential education for present and future healthcare practitioners, and support drug-related research.
Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications while entering orders and/or verifying medications. Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner. Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for inpatient and outpatient treatment in accordance with the Practicing State's Pharmacy Practice Act, Federal Drug Laws, and other regulatory organizations. Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions, as required, using aseptic technique in an accepted sterile product preparation area. Organize daily operational duties and assist in the supervision of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy aides, student interns, and other ancillary personnel involved in providing pharmaceutical care. Fill prescription orders in accordance with State and Federal regulations, utilizing technological resources and equipment. Provide drug information and/or educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree Current licensure as a pharmacist in practicing state Previous pharmacist experience preferred.
