Practice for this role

About the role

The optometrist will provide high-quality, evidence-based eye care to patients across multiple clinic locations. They will work collaboratively within a multispecialty team of ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient-centered service.

At Vancouver Clinic, caring for people is our first priority and the driving force behind everything we do. New clinicians will find a collegial, supportive, and caring environment of healthcare professionals committed to our patients and community. Our multispecialty clinic is physician owned, which prioritizes the highest quality patient care and a strong work-life balance.

We are eager and ready to hire another optometrist to join our growing practice. The new clinician will join the largest group of eyecare providers in Southwest Washington. Our Ophthalmology Department consists of four optometrists and six ophthalmologists. We have a part-time retina specialist and full-time specialists in glaucoma, pediatrics and oculoplastics.

This position is a part-time position which will involve primarily seeing patients in our Heron Gate (Ridgefield) office with some time at our Camas office. This position affords the opportunity to have a great work/life balance with amazing colleagues and no weekend hours or call responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing, hardworking, patient-oriented, team player who is enthusiastic about practicing evidence-based medicine in a collegial, cohesive group of MDs and ODs. Applicants’ qualifications must include an O.D. Degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for licensure in Washington State. Preference will be given to candidates with 3+ years of experience and/or residency training.

The department spans three locations, including two full‑spectrum ophthalmology clinics and one boutique‑style, optometry‑only vision clinic. Each site includes a full‑service optical shop, supporting comprehensive, patient‑centered eye care.

Clinicians are supported by a highly experienced care team, including clinic assistants, ophthalmic testing staff, ophthalmic technicians, a dedicated contact lens technician, and opticians—allowing clinicians to focus on high‑quality, efficient patient care.

Established referral network with excellent collaboration between primary care and specialty care.

Compensation is a production model

New clinicians have a 1-year guarantee between $160,000 and $178,000 for 1.0 FTE (guarantee will be pro-rated based on actual FTE) with upside earning potential

Market context

Physician roles in Washington remain selective

In Washington, physician openings are typically driven by ongoing demand for experienced clinical leadership and patient care in both urban and community settings. These roles are competitive because employers often look for strong credentials, alignment with organizational values, and experience that fits the care model; on this platform, job requirements and benefits are AI-summarized from the original job description, saving candidates research time.
