About the role

The Registered Nurse provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients while utilizing the nursing process to deliver evidence-based care. They collaborate with the inter-professional team to advocate for patients and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the Nurse Practice Act.

The Pulmonary unit at Miami Valley Hospital is a 38 bed advanced care floor in a level 1 trauma center hiring for both new grads and expereinced RNs!

Patient population with which you will work: COPD Pneumonia Pulmonary Embolism Pulmonary Edema Influenza Diabetic ketoacidosis Equipment on the unit you will learn: Telemetry Tracheotomy Chest tubes High flow Oxygen Chronic Ventilators BIPAP Drips The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment.

The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing.

The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service.

The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry.

The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team.

The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree in Nursing Preferred educational qualifications: BSN Preferred; BSN Completion or Professional Certification may be required.

RNs with a minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement and sign a Professional Certification MOU which must be obtained with 3 years of hire.

Licensure/Certification/Registration Valid Ohio RN license Current CPR certification required at the time of hire Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience Knowledge/Skills Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor Basic computer knowledge Strong organization skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Ohio RN license and current CPR certification. An Associate degree in Nursing is the minimum education required, with a preference for a BSN.
