The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound exams and treatments while ensuring patient safety and comfort. They also manage administrative tasks, coordinate radiology exams, and maintain departmental cleanliness and equipment standards.
Candidates must have completed an accredited radiological or ultrasound technology program and hold a current BLS CPR certification. Experience in healthcare or ultrasound is preferred, and candidates must be registered or working toward ARDMS or ARRT certification.
Description JOB SUMMARY Under the general direction of the Radiology Manager, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform Ultrasound testing and treatment in accordance with TJC, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Communicates with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. Position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi-autonomous role within a fast pace and dynamic environment.
Minimum Level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion high school, and completion of an accredited radiological technology program and/or Ultrasound program.
Completion of Accredited Radiological and/or Ultrasound Technology Program.
Must have and maintain a current BLS CPR, and be able to satisfy State of Georgia, TJC, and Federal licensure Requirements, or the equivalent thereof . As of Jan 1 2008 must be Ultrasound registered or supervised by a registered Ultrasound Technologist. If unregistered by ARDMS or ARRT, must be working toward certification for registry.
Six months to one year experience in healthcare / Ultrasound is preferred.
