The Registered Nurse provides direct clinical care to complex patients within an interdisciplinary team and manages treatment plans in an outpatient endocrine clinic. They also participate in shared governance, support performance improvement activities, and contribute to the onboarding of new team members.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program with at least one year of relevant experience and a valid Virginia RN license. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required within five years of hire, and an AHA BLS certification is mandatory.
This job description integrates the AAACN Scope and Standards of Practice for Professional Ambulatory Care Nursing, the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, with the UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model.

Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease The starting base rate for this role is $37.51 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
