About the role

The Psychiatrist is responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and prescribing medications for a diverse patient population. They must also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, compassionate care and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

The Psychiatrist is responsible for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to medical practice, clinic operations, and licensing. Work Location: Midtown - Sacramento, CA 95811 Essential Functions

Responsible for:

Conducting psychiatric intakes for diagnostic evaluations, developing a treatment plan, and prescribing appropriate psychiatric medications.

providing continuity of care for your patient panel and actively reassessing and modifying diagnoses and treatment plans as appropriate

Consistently provide compassionate patient centered care to a diverse patient population

Experience managing patients that may have complex medical needs and ability to collaborate with their primary care providers

Comfortable working with patients with a history of trauma and comorbid SUD

Ability to effectively utilize telemedicine services when conducting telehealth video visits

Work effectively in a team-based practice with other Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.

Responsible for accurate and timely documentation necessary for patient care and billing.

Responsible for assuring quality medical care delivered to all patients.

Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.

Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.

Experience and comfort in prescribing regulated medications including benzodiazepines and stimulants when clinically indicated

Responsible for understanding and maintenance of Quality Improvement Program indicators as directed by the Leadership for the medical department.

Responsible for understanding and complying with the Standards of Care and policies for the Medical Clinic.

Responsible for understanding and complying with the implementation of medical clinic policies to ensure appropriate medical follow-up of patients and medical specialty referrals.

Understands and follows medical operations in compliance with applicable state and local laws, regulations and policies.

Understands and monitors systems for compliance, as necessary. Provides necessary and timely communication to Medical Leadership when issues of compliance arise and complies with a corrective strategy.

Understands and follows policies and procedures relative to medical provider scheduling, schedule changes, template development, etc., coordinating with efforts with the Practice Manager. Promptly communicates problems and issues in these areas to the Medical Leadership.

Assists other medical and general staff, in developing and designing new clinical services, as appropriate to One Community Health patient needs.

Responsible for attending all appropriate meetings as directed by the Medical Leadership.

Additional Duties

Participate in work groups, teams, task forces and committees to support ongoing clinic functions. Foster communication and coordination within the clinic and outside agencies by establishing professional working relationships with others to facilitate the delivery of services to the patient.

This position is responsible for reporting suspicion of child, adult (including spouses), elder, and dependent adult abuse as outlined in Penal Code, Section 11166, Section 15630, and Section 1160

  • Minimum Requirements
  • Must be fully licensed to practice in the state of California, who is board certified or eligible in Psychiatry
  • Possess a DEA certificate
  • Current BLS/CPR Certificate
  • Licenses required for this position must be kept current, valid, and in good standing with the presiding entity.
  • Preferred Background
  • Several years of FQHC or community health center practice experience preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across a broad spectrum of backgrounds and perspectives. Candidates who demonstrate inclusive thinking and interpersonal awareness help strengthen our commitment to equitable and compassionate care for all.

Requirements

Candidates must be fully licensed to practice in California and be board certified or eligible in Psychiatry. A valid DEA certificate and current BLS/CPR certification are also required for this position.
