Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in clinical oncology departments. Perform patient assessments prior to appointments and during the course of visits to identify essential information.
Requires a graduate degree from an accredited nursing program and at least one year of current pediatric oncology experience including chemotherapy administration. Must hold or obtain nursing licenses for Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, along with BLS and chemotherapy certifications.
Performs comprehensive patient assessment prior to appointments with providers and appointments for chemotherapy to identify essential information for that visit. Provides ongoing assessment as appropriate during the course of the patients visit.
Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse Certificate preferred. BSN preferred.
