About the role

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is responsible for interpreting and processing medication orders while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care. They also perform clinical assessments, supervise pharmacy technicians, and provide drug information to patients and providers.

Our primary function is to offer continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis, under physician directed care and RN supervision. We service a multitude of patients and their families across our vast network, while remaining committed to the professional development of our staff, the functional improvement of our patients, and the cultivation of strong partnerships within our communities.

Position Summary

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist supports the mission of the department, hospital, by preventing, identifying and resolving drug related problems to assure patients safety, improve patients' satisfaction, optimize patients' outcome and minimize cost. Works in the Pharmacy, as well as in patient care areas. Will perform all functions of a registered pharmacist including accurate and timely dispensing, clinical interaction with the healthcare team, patients' involvement, and technician supervision The Clinical Staff Pharmacist collaborates with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and fiscally responsible patient-centered care. Clinical Pharmacist interprets, reviews and processes medication orders, screens orders for appropriateness and intervenes as warranted. The Clinical Pharmacist provides patients and providers with therapeutic assessments and selected disease management, for assigned clinical areas, working toward improving patient and practice outcomes The registered staff pharmacist shall use his or her knowledge of therapeutics, nutrition, toxicology, pharmacokinetics and drug information to positively affect the outcomes of care given to our pediatric through geriatric aged patients while at the hospital. The registered staff pharmacist shall carry out the daily tasks and responsibilities of medication order interpretation, drug therapy review, drug dispensing and assisting in the dissemination of drug information to our patients and members of Florida Medical Center's healthcare team. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience): Current Florida Licensure in Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy. Bachelor of Science Required. Minimum of one (1) year hospital experience preferred

Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Florida Pharmacy license and possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. At least one year of hospital experience is preferred.
