About the role

The Associate Veterinarian will examine, diagnose, and treat small animal patients while performing soft-tissue surgeries and dental procedures. They are also responsible for developing treatment plans, interpreting diagnostic results, and educating clients on long-term care.

Compensation: $90,000-$100,000 annually Best Friends Animal Hospital is hiring an Associate Veterinarian.

Competencies What Makes This a Good Fit Experienced in general small animal medicine Confident performing routine soft-tissue surgery Experienced in dentistry or genuinely open to learning and expanding dental skills Communicates clearly and professionally with clients and teammates Works well in a collaborative, team-focused environment Values efficiency, consistency, and quality medicine Willing to provide occasional flexibility to help cover vacations Essential Responsibilities What You’ll Be Doing Examine, diagnose, and treat small animal patients Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to patient needs Perform soft-tissue surgical procedures and dental treatments Interpret diagnostic results including lab work and imaging Prescribe medications and recommend preventative care Educate clients on treatment options and long-term care Maintain accurate and timely medical records Practice medicine in accordance with veterinary ethics and regulations Requirements/Qualifications Requirements & Qualifications DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.

Appropriate state licensure.

Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.

Vet will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.

Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Requirements
