The Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioner provides behavioral health services and skill-building interventions to youth in foster care and their families. They work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs are met while supporting family stabilization and overall well-being.
Candidates must have a Master's degree and an active New York State license (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT) along with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health or behavioral health setting. Strong clinical assessment, communication skills, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Under Article 29-I, the Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioner (LBHP) is responsible for providing behavioral health services, skill-building interventions, and psychiatric support services to youth in foster care and their families. This role works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs are met, while supporting permanency planning, family stabilization, and overall well-being. The LBHP provides direct clinical support, collaborates with internal and external providers, and plays a key role in ensuring timely, accurate documentation and high-quality service delivery across all departments.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and counseling skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficient in Word, Excel, EHR systems, and care coordination tools (Accumedic preferred). Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of managed care systems, Article 29-I requirements, and behavioral health regulations. Ability to work independently while meeting program expectations. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications / Requirements Master’s degree required. Active New York State license: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health or behavioral health setting. Must be able to work Monday–Friday in person for the first 90 days, with availability between 9:00am–7:00pm based on program needs. Ability to attend required meetings, trainings, and case conferences. Valid driver’s license preferred but not required. Required to travel to both sites (BK & S.I) as needed but we're flexible on where the position is based Why Join Us?
