The counselor is responsible for managing patient treatment plans, documentation, and clinical records while facilitating group sessions and crisis intervention. They also coordinate referrals, perform drug screenings, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Candidates must hold a degree in a social science or related field and possess or be eligible for relevant licensure or certification in Virginia. Experience in substance abuse counseling is required, with specific educational and clinical hour thresholds depending on the counselor tier.
