The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements treatment programs for patients with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial dysfunction under the supervision of an OTR. They are responsible for documenting patient treatment, submitting charges, and maintaining communication with the treatment team regarding patient progress.
Candidates must hold an Associate's Degree in an accredited occupational therapy assistant program. Certification as a COTA by the NB-COT is preferred, and Basic Life Support certification is required or preferred depending on the specific credential.
