The mammography technologist prepares and operates imaging equipment to perform breast and DEXA exams according to physician orders. They are responsible for verifying patient identification, archiving exams to PACS, and maintaining the imaging facility.
Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the mammography technologist prepares for and operates imaging equipment following specific physicians' orders.
Produces detailed computer-generated scans of patients for breast and DEXA exams, verifies patients' identification prior to scan, selects patient from work list, ensures exam is archived on the PACS.
Maintains facilities in proper order.
Must keep abreast of all new departmental imaging.
To perform a variety of mammographic and DEXA procedures using X-Rays.
Completion from an accredited radiography program and registered in radiography and mammography by the ARRT, or registry eligible.
One year mammography experience preferred.

Candidates must have completed an accredited radiography program and hold or be eligible for ARRT registration in radiography and mammography. A current New Jersey DEP license and American Heart Association CPR certification are required.
