Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. One year of healthcare experience is preferred, along with the physical ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Facilitates the efficiency of the Operating Room by performing a variety of duties associated with the care of surgical patients, as designated by the Operating Room Manager. Day shift 7:00 AM -3:30 PM some flex Monday-Friday
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 1. Transports patients, including those who have received preoperative medication, to and from the Operating Room. 2. Provides supportive conversation to preoperative patients. 3. Observes and report unusual findings or changes in patient conditions to the responsible nurse. 4. Participates in the positioning of anesthetized and non-anesthetized patients. 5. Performs simple treatments and other routine duties of preoperative care, including shave preps of the surgical site. 6. Participates in providing a safe, aseptic, and orderly environment for patients in the Operating Room. 7. Handles simple/complex Operating Room equipment. Collects and sets up the equipment needed for complex surgical procedures, including the fracture table, pacemaker table, arthroscopy equipment, laminectomy frame, and video equipment. 8. Performs non-patient, care-oriented duties, including errand running, as directed by the Operating Room Nurse Manager. 9. Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team. 10. Assists in the cleaning and preparation of rooms before the start of surgical procedures. 11. Checks medical/surgical stock supply levels and stock instrument levels. Places orders with Materials Management and resupplies shelves. 12. Checks and restocks each Operating Room suite according to established par levels. 13. Reports broken or missing equipment to the nursing manager. Coordinates repairs with Engineering or Materials Management. 14. Makes recommendations for adjustments in supply par levels based on usage. 15. Works with Materials Management and team leaders with supply procurement including communicating ordering information, receiving logging, and distributing special orders or equipment.
1. Read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions, normally acquired through the completion of high school education or equivalent educational preparation. 2. One year of hospital or healthcare-related experience is preferred. 3. Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff throughout the day. Physical Requirements & Environment: 1. Normal hospital environment. 2. Exposure to infectious diseases, chemicals, and other toxic agents. 3. Ability to walk and stand for up to 90% of work time, push and pull heavy weights (including patients), and lift 50 lbs. 4. Fine motor control for limited periods to perform patient treatments. 5. Repetitive hand movements and grasping. Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.92 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
