Performs a variety of breast imaging procedures, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, while assisting radiologists during biopsies. Ensures high-quality imaging and patient safety through adherence to radiation protection standards.
Requires an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology and at least two years of mammography experience. Must hold ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo certifications, as well as SCRQSA certification.

Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies. Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies. Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients. Covers other functions in the department, as necessary. Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images. Provides clinical instruction to student and staff technologists. Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements Education - Associate degree in Radiologic Technology Experience - Two (2) mammography experience In Lieu Of NA Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo Registered Registered in Mammography, Ultrasound and/or Bone Density. SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
Competent in all breast imaging modalities to include screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies. Able to stay abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material.
