Position Description Bluebird Kids Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate and Medical Assistant with a patient and family-first mindset.
The Medical Assistant will work alongside our mission-based provider team to assist with patient care, perform necessary administrative tasks and ensure smooth operation of our pediatric clinic.
The ideal candidate will have strong patient care skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine interest in working with children and their families.
What You’ll Do Patient Care Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
Take and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
Assist healthcare providers during medical procedures and examinations.
Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
Administrative Support Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments.
Analyze, update and maintain patients' medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Process lab specimens and prepare them for testing.
Assist with insurance verification and billing tasks as needed.
Patient Education & Support Provide patients and their families with information and instructions regarding their medical conditions, treatments, and medications.
Educate patients and their families on preventive healthcare measures and lifestyle modifications.
Ensure patients and their families understand their treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
Prepare exam rooms and medical equipment for patient use.
Infection Control and Safety Follow established protocols for infection control and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Dispose of biohazardous materials and medical waste in accordance with regulations.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Other Duties as Assigned What You’ll Need Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program (preferred).
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential (preferred).
