• The UT Health ET Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant plays a critical role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients within their home environments across the United States.
• This position focuses on assisting occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans that promote patients' independence and improve their ability to perform daily living activities.
• The assistant will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to monitor progress, adapt interventions, and ensure safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
• By providing compassionate and skilled support, the assistant helps enhance patients' quality of life and facilitates their return to meaningful activities.
• This role requires a commitment to patient-centered care, strong communication skills, and adherence to professional and ethical standards in home health settings.

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will

• Administers the Occupational Therapy treatment plan as developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Applies concepts of infection control/universal precautions in performing patient care.
• Assure continuity of quality patient care delivered with appropriate documentation.
• Provide effective communication to patient/family, team members and other health care professionals.
• Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies.

Requirements

• Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License
• Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
• CPR certification
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Auto Insurance
• HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred

• Physical Demands
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, or kneel for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 lbs..
