The Medical Office Assistant performs direct patient care, including taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting clinicians during examinations. They also manage clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, processing insurance forms, and maintaining medical records.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, they require either a 6-month to 1-year medical assisting course or 1-3 years of relevant medical assistant experience.
Performs direct patient care under the supervision of a physician or appropriate clinician. Performs related clerical duties supporting operational needs.
