The technician provides safe and competent care by managing the sterilization and preparation of medical instruments. They also oversee and guide staff while adhering to facility policies and service excellence standards.

Job Description

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum two years SPD experience as a certified SPD Technician

Technical Skills

  • Due to the highly technical nature, especially related to interpretation of manufacturer’s Instructions For Use (IFU), ALL SPD staff must be proficient in spoken and written
  • English
  • License/Certification: CRCST from IAHCSMM or equivalent. Professional SPD relevant (CRCST or CSPDT) certification maintained for a minimum of two years prior to date of hire or promotion. Additional SPD certifications desired. Certification must be maintained as a term of employment.
