• Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (SCHHC) has Per Diem openings for RNs in our Emergency Room Department.
• The ER RN provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting.
• Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations with a minimum of supervision.
• Able to triage every patient that enters the emergency care system safely, rapidly, and accurately.
• This position is able to perform a Nursing Assessment following department policy and procedure.
• The ER RN determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
• The ER RN communicates with Emergency Room Department Provider about changes in the patient’s status, symptoms, and results of diagnostic studies.
• The ER RN is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or responses to treatment.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, required.
• Current RN license in Oregon, required.
• Have and maintain Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
• TEAM or TNCC certification preferred.
• CEN certification desired.
• Minimum of one year of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Minimum of one year of Emergency Room nursing experience desired.
