About the role

The Advanced Practice Provider will provide direct medical care to pediatric patients in an urgent care setting, working both independently and collaboratively with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, documenting history and physical exams, and developing interdisciplinary plans of care.

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our new Urgent Care team in Glenn Mills, PA!

This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly expanding Urgent Care Practices in 2026!

The Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families in an Urgent Care setting.

This APP will function independently and collaboratively to provide medical care for patients from 0 through 20 years.

This position will require the provider to work weekend days and weekday nights.

Key Responsibilities: Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.

Performs appropriate assessment of patient/family upon referral/admission and appropriate documents history and physical exam data.

Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.

May use prescriptive authority if appropriately credentialed to do so.

Collaborates interprofessionally as needed.

Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.

Documents of patient care and progress on patient's chart.

Provides patient/family teaching based on identification of learning needs.

Qualifications

Excellent written, phone, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Interested applicants should possess the ability to function at a high level in an interprofessional team environment as well as an independent provider. PNP: Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse Licensure, Active unrestricted Pennsylvania Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure; Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania Federal DEA; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center PA-C: Current unrestricted Physician Assistant License to practice in the state of Pennsylvania; National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania Federal DEA American Heart Association BLS upon hire Interested applicants should possess the ability to function at a high level in an interprofessional team environment as well as an independent provider. 3-5 years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ED or Urgent Care setting strongly preferred. Requirements

Applicants must hold an active Pennsylvania license as either a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant, along with relevant national certifications. Candidates are required to possess excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively within an interprofessional team environment.
