The Pre-Operative Registered Nurse is responsible for performing patient assessments, reviewing medical history, and preparing patients physically and emotionally for surgery. They also collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure all documentation and safety protocols are met.
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Pre-Operative Registered Nurse to prepare patients for surgical procedures in a fast-paced perioperative setting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, readiness, and optimal surgical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Perform pre-operative assessments, including medical history review and vital signs Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery Verify consents, labs, and surgical documentation Administer pre-op medications and initiate IV access Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative teams Educate patients and families on procedures and expectations
Active RN license (BSN preferred) BLS/ACLS certification 1–2+ years of acute care or perioperative experience preferred Strong assessment and communication skills
