About the role

The Veterinary Technician will manage anesthesia and patient procedures, including pre-operative planning, monitoring, and post-operative recovery. They are also responsible for maintaining medical records, managing appointments, and ensuring high-quality patient care through advanced technical interventions.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our thriving Surgery department in Levittown, PA! **This role requires someone who can manage sit ASA III-V cases, TIVA or partial TIVA, place arterial lines, and place triple lumens.*
  • Pay: $24.93 - $44.91 / hour This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$3.50/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$3.50/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$5.00/hr. Shift Differential As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will: Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs. Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions. Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance. Perform physical exam; accurately counts pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal. Set up intravenous fluids and CRI’s, operate all brands of fluid pumps and can trouble shoot errors. Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management. Comfortable with medical math. Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery) Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc. Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
