Practice for this role

About the role

The role involves performing blood collection and diagnostic imaging services while adhering to safety and radiation-protection standards. The employee will undergo sponsored training to transition from a phlebotomy role to a combined Phlebotomist and Limited Scope X-Ray Operator.

Important Note

Riverwood Healthcare is seeking a motivated individual interested in building a healthcare career with the long‑term goal of performing both phlebotomy and limited‑scope X‑ray duties.

The Phlebotomy & X‑Ray Operator In‑Training position begins in a phlebotomy role (with training provided if needed) and includes paid, Riverwood sponsored training to become a Limited Scope X‑Ray Operator over a 6–8 month period.

Upon successful completion of the training program and any required certification or competency validation, the employee will begin performing X‑ray procedures in addition to phlebotomy responsibilities and will receive a corresponding pay increase aligned with the imaging pay scale.

Following training, the employee is expected to work in both roles based on department and patient care needs.

This position requires the employee to complete the training program and commit to one (1) year of employment with Riverwood Healthcare following course completion.

Riverwood’s terms and conditions apply, including repayment of training costs if the employment commitment is not fulfilled.

About the Position

The Phlebotomy & X‑Ray Operator In‑Training supports patient care by assisting with blood collection and diagnostic imaging services in the clinic. This role involves direct patient interaction, learning technical skills, and following safety, infection‑control, and radiation‑protection standards while working closely with clinical and imaging teams.

The position will be trained at Riverwood’s Aitkin clinic, with the intention of transitioning to work at the Garrison clinic as a phlebotomist and limited‑scope X‑ray operator once training is successfully completed. Riverwood offers a variety of imaging services and training opportunities, making this an excellent entry‑level opportunity for individuals interested in building a long‑term healthcare career.

Market context

Minnesota physical therapy roles stay selective

Minnesota allied-health employers often look for licensed physical therapists with solid clinical experience, so demand can be steady but competition is strongest for candidates who already meet state licensure and experience thresholds. These roles are competitive because employers value accredited training, a valid Minnesota Physical Therapy Board license, and hands-on practice in patient care settings. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits on this platform to save research time, then confirm your license status and highlight your full-time experience clearly before applying.
