The Radiation Therapist provides therapeutic patient care by delivering prescribed radiation treatments using linear accelerators and ionizing radiation equipment. They are responsible for monitoring patient conditions, documenting reactions, and collaborating with oncologists and dosimetrists to ensure accurate treatment delivery.
Candidates must be a graduate of a CAHEA-approved School of Radiation Therapy and hold current ARRT registration and state licensure. Additionally, a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and the ability to work rotational call schedules are required.
