The Admissions RN is responsible for processing inquiry and referral calls while coordinating the entire admissions process for patients. They serve as a liaison between families, physicians, and hospital staff to ensure efficient patient intake and medical intervention.
Candidates must hold an Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or be eligible to obtain or renew one. The role requires the ability to perform clinical assessments, verify insurance, and manage admission paperwork effectively.
Responsible for the timely processing of inquiry and referral calls. Responsible for coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patients. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patients to unit. Pre-cert with payor source. Follow hospital’s policies and procedures regarding admissions.
