The technologist is responsible for performing adult echocardiographic examinations and assisting licensed practitioners with cardiac imaging and interventional procedures. They also ensure patient safety, maintain equipment quality, and document all clinical activities in accordance with institutional policies.

Responsible for a variety of technical duties necessary to the acquisition of echocardiographic examinations and maintenance of the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory.
Cardiac sonographers independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of various cardiac imaging procedures. Sonographers prepare, administer and document activities related to ultrasound enhancing agents in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.
Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in their assigned department.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a sonographer or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification and
