The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive patient care in collaboration with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams across various high-acuity clinical areas. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, assisting in surgical procedures, interpreting diagnostic studies, and developing treatment plans.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold a current or eligible Louisiana PA license. NCCPA certification and BLS certification are required, with ICU or surgical experience preferred.
The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive patient care in collaboration with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role is ideal for PAs who thrive in team-based, fast-paced clinical environments and are committed to high-quality, evidence-based care. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed patient assessments and evaluations Manage acute and complex conditions within scope of practice Assist in surgical procedures as a First Assist (as applicable) Order, interpret, and document diagnostic studies Develop and execute treatment and care plans Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with protocols Educate patients and families on diagnoses and treatment plans Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current or eligible Louisiana PA license NCCPA certification required BLS from American Heart Association required (ACLS preferred or required based on specialty) ICU, surgical, or specialty experience preferred but not required Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care DEA Registration or eligible
