About the role

Facilitate evidence-based group therapy sessions using CBT, DBT, and ACT for children aged 8-14. Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, providing crisis intervention, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team for patient care.

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer.

Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

As a group therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT.

We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients.

Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.

What You'll Do: Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups, working with ages 8-14 years old Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings Providing individual support to patients, as needed Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction Participating in discharge planning for patients Other duties, as assigned Who You Are: Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs Hold or be eligible for one of the following licensures: LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD (preferred) 1 + year of post-Master’s clinical experience, or a relevant master’s level internship Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Experience with patients in crisis, and a strong passion for working within high acuity environments We are committed to a fair and equitable work environment.

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications.

Requirements

Requires a Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or a related field, with eligibility for relevant licensure (e.g., LSW, LPC, LCSW). Candidates should have at least one year of post-Master's clinical experience or a relevant internship and proficiency in CBT and DBT.
