Job Summary The Co-op Assistant supports the research activities of faculty members working on clinical research studies focused primarily on pulmonary vascular disease.
The activities include: assisting in the development and implementing patient recruitment strategies, data collection. Processing blood samples and shipping to appropriate laboratories. The Co-op Assistant also performs some administrative duties including coordinating follow-up visits, organizing patient mailings, and other scheduling and coordinating tasks as necessitated by research protocol(s) The successful applicant will be an independent problem-solver with excellent attention to detail and writing skills, who desires to work in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced and mission-driven organization. Summer internship. Full time day position. 1. Working in concert with research staff, develops and implements patient recruitment strategies. 2. Develops, organizes, and/or maintains detailed clinical and research databases. May use programs such as Excel and REDCap. 3. Responsible for collecting data and maintaining patient information database for study. May be required to input data. Maintains patients’ records as part of record keeping function. 4. Assisting with collection of regulatory documents for clinical studies and maintaining regulatory binder. 5. Performs literature searches, as appropriate. 6. Orders lab supplies and equipment as necessary. 7. Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues. Attends meetings as required. 8. Assist with samples processing and shipping. 9. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
