The medical physicist is responsible for clinical medical physics support, including equipment calibration, commissioning, and the maintenance of quality assurance programs. They collaborate with radiation oncologists to optimize treatment plans and ensure the safe, accurate delivery of radiation doses to patients.
Candidates must hold an MS or Ph.D. in medical physics and possess experience in a clinical radiotherapy environment. Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Radiology is required, along with proficiency in relevant planning software and radiation safety regulations.
