• DESCRIPTION: Highly specialized and educated technician who performs clinical analysis requiring limited skills, responsibility, and minimal exercise of independent judgement. Medical technicians must work under the supervision of a registered Medical Technologist at all times. Performs phlebotomy duties as needed. Follows policies and procedures to ensure overall departmental operations in accordance with the facility’s mission and philosophy. Participates and maintains quality assurance activities to assure highest standards of care.

Experience

Must be registered as a medical technician in accordance with the standards of the Department of Human Resources of Georgia.

• DEMANDS: Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the work day, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
