Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic exams and routine invasive procedures. Provides patient care across all age groups while maintaining effective communication with staff and radiologists.
Requires graduation from an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program and BLS certification. Must obtain ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI certification within six months of employment.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:None, must become certified by ARDMS or ARRT or CCI within 6-month of employment.
