The Mammography Technologist performs specialized breast examinations to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. They are responsible for operating mammographic radiographic equipment and various other medical devices.
Candidates must be graduates of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited training program. Applicants are required to hold ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography, as well as BLS certification.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:None One (1) year minimum experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) - ARRT. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:BLS certified. Business
