The Lab Assistant performs sample processing, screening, and monitoring tests while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. They also conduct venipunctures and assist technical staff with various non-clinical tasks.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED. A phlebotomy certification is preferred, and the role requires the ability to work in a clinical laboratory setting.
Overview Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
