The therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering individualized occupational therapy programs to restore physical function and alleviate pain. They must also maintain accurate patient documentation and instruct patients and families on home treatment procedures.
Candidates must hold a master’s degree in an AOTA-approved physical therapy program and possess a current license from the state Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. The role requires physical stamina for standing, walking, and performing patient transfers.
