About the role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing complex scientific tests and analyzing results from patient samples. They must also maintain laboratory equipment, monitor quality control protocols, and ensure accurate reporting of findings.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing and analyzing the results of the complex scientific tests.

Essential Functions

1. Analyzer Maintenance 2. Preparing and running calibrations and QCs on analyzers 3. Monitoring quality control measures and protocols 4. Running patient samples (serum, whole blood, urine) 5. Reviewing and reporting of results 6. Maintaining laboratory logs

Qualifications, Knowledge and Competencies

Qualifications

Certification by ASCP, AMT, or AAB, Medical Technologist License (or Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist) in State of Florida and laboratory experience.

Knowledge: Beckman AU700, Beckman DxH560, Beckman Access 2

Competencies: Technical Capacity, Decision Making, Problem Solving/Analysis, Results Driven, Pipetting

Requirements

Candidates must hold a certification from ASCP, AMT, or AAB and possess a valid Medical Technologist license in the State of Florida. Previous laboratory experience and proficiency with specific Beckman analyzer systems are required.
