About the role

The phlebotomist is responsible for performing venipunctures and obtaining or preparing blood specimens. All tasks must be completed in accordance with established Piedmont policies and procedures.

Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. At times is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.

Qualifications

Education Education Level Education Details Required/ Preferred Graduate from a nursing program Required and Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components Required Work Experience Experience Experience Details Required/ Preferred 2 years perioperative RN or RNFA experience Required 3 years minimum experience of as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR, if working in the CVOR Required Licenses and Certifications Licenses/Certifications Licenses/Certification Details Time Frame Required/ Preferred RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License Required and CNOR - Certified Operating Room RN if applicable Required CRNFA - Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant Required and BCLS - Basic Life Support Required and Licenses and Certifications Licenses/Certifications Licenses/Certification Details Time Frame Required/ Preferred ACLS Required and PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required Business
