The Genetic Counselor provides genetic counseling, test coordination, and follow-up care for patients. They also support referring providers and the clinical team while engaging in genetics education and program activities.
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or an equivalent program from an accredited training program. At least one year of genetic counseling experience and board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling are required.
The Genetic Counselor provides genetic counseling, test coordination, and follow-up for patients in the Piedmont Heart Institute. The incumbent supports referring providers & clinical team, provides genetics education and outreach, and engages in genetics program activities.
Education Master’s Degree Genetic Counseling or equivalent program from an ABGC or ABMG accredited training program Required Work Experience 1 year genetic counseling experience required Work experience in cardiology and/or clinical genetic counseling preferred Experience with Epic and Progeny software preferred Licenses and Certifications ABGC - American Board of Genetic Counseling Board Certified in Genetic Counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling Upon Hire Required and Genetic Counselor License for the State of Georgia Upon Hire Required Business
