About the role

The dentist will manage adult and pediatric patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and oral hygiene education. They are also responsible for supervising medical staff and performing various dental procedures such as extractions and denture fittings.

Full time Dentist needed to provide patients with dental diagnosis, treatments, procedures and care for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Central Alabama.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary of $120,000 - $150,000 (depending on experience)

Vacation/Sick Leave - Employee shall be entitled to fifteen (15) business days of vacation and five (5) business days of sick leave during each fiscal year (assuming a 5-day workweek).

CME - 5 days for CEU and reimbursement for up to $3,000 per year for conferences, materials, applications relating to continuing medical education (assuming a 5-day workweek).

Professional Licensure and Organizations - Fees paid for: State license and controlled substances registration, DEA license. Other fees for licensures or certifications requested by CMCF that you obtain.

Retirement Plan - CMCF sponsors a 401(k) retirement plan. Employee would be eligible after 90 days of employment. CMCF matches employee’s contributions up to 4% of employee’s paycheck.

Professional Liability - CMCF is deemed under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA); therefore, malpractice claims arising from activities within the scope of CMCF’s project under its Section 330 grant are covered by this policy. For any claims arising from CFMR activities that are outside the scope of CMCF’s project, employees are also covered under a “gap” policy through ProAssurance that will provide coverage as well as legal defense.

Health Insurance - Provided through BCBS of Alabama. Individual coverage paid by CMCF, and family coverage available. Employee would be eligible on the first day of the month following their start date.

Dental Insurance - Provided through Principal Dental. Individual coverage paid by CMCF, and family coverage available. Employee would be eligible on the first day of the month following their start date.

Vision Insurance - Provided through Principal Dental. Individual and family coverage available. Employee eligible on the first day of the month following start date.

Other Insurance - Provided through Colonial Life. Life, short-term disability, accident, and cancer policies available.

Gym Membership - Fitness center options close to each of CMC Clinics; employee only pays $10/month.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - Both Healthcare and Dependent Care FSAs offered to provide tax savings on eligible medical, dental, and dependent care expenses.

Legal Services and Identity Theft Protection Benefit - Range of legal services made easily accessible to employees through LegalShield. Membership also includes access to discounts to a large number of vendors/retailers.

Responsibilities

  • Manages adult and pediatric patient care for specific exams, evaluations, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Treats diseases, injuries and other issues of teeth, gums, and other oral structures.
  • Uses X-rays, dental equipment and procedures depending on the nature of care needed with particular patients.
  • Performs a variety of dental tasks including but not limited to teeth cleaning, cavity fills, extractions, replacements, x-rays, etc.
  • Prescribes any necessary medication.
  • Refers patients to specialists, depending on nature of problem
  • Follows established policies, procedures and objectives to ensure highest quality patient care.
  • Trains and supervises medical staff, interns, trainees.
  • Educates patients on oral hygiene.
  • Dentures: This is a significant part of our practice, and we need the new provider to handle these cases.
  • Pediatric Care: The role will also involve working with children.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Doctorate Degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine, 1 year in training program, and State Board approved Dental Treatment Programs

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Doctorate Degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine. Additionally, one year of training and completion of State Board approved dental treatment programs are required.
