The Histology Technician performs diagnostic histological procedures including embedding, cutting, staining, and grossing specimens. They are also responsible for instrument operation, quality control documentation, and maintaining professional rapport with laboratory and hospital staff.
Candidates must hold a current Florida Clinical Laboratory Technician (TC) license. The position requires post-high school special training and the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Works closely with the Histology Technical Supervisor, Histology Manager, Histo Technologists and Pathologists in the performance of diagnostic histological procedures. The duties include, but are not limited to, embedding, cutting, staining, performing IHC stains, instrument operation and QC/QA documentation, loading and unloading tissue processors, performing frozen section procedures, grossing specimens, and accessioning specimens in the Pathology computer system. This position requires an individual who is highly skilled in areas that they are licensed. This individual helps maintain an excellent rapport between other Laboratory Staff and other Hospital Departments.
Education Post High School Special Training Licensure/Certification/Registration Must have current Florida Clinical Laboratory Technician (TC) License Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
