Registered Nurse– Radiation Therapy Location: Gainesville Schedule: Days Department: Radiation Therapy Hours of Operation Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (flexible based on patient volume) Typical days are M, Tu,W, F Ideal candidates for this position will have at least two years of RN experience in a hospital setting. An oncology background is preferred. Job Summary The Radiation Therapy Department is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our highly specialized oncology care team. This department provides services to adult and geriatric patients undergoing treatment for cancer and select non-malignant conditions, including benign brain tumors. As an RN, you will play a vital role in supporting complex patient care throughout the radiation therapy journey—from consultation through treatment completion. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and participate in shared governance, quality initiatives, and unit-based improvements. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safe, compassionate, patient-centered care. Patients may receive treatment for cancer diagnoses or specialized non-malignant conditions. Minimum Qualifications

Licensure: Current Georgia RN license Education: Associate Degree in Nursing Experience: Minimum 1 year of RN experience Preferred Qualifications – 2 years of experience, Oncology background Certification: National specialty certification (oncology or radiation preferred) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Delivers safe, efficient, population-specific care to adult and geriatric patients Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork with colleagues, patients, and families Applies evidence-based practice and sound critical thinking Demonstrates leadership, accountability, and delegation skills Supports shared governance and unit-based decision‑making Proficient in basic computer use and clinical documentation systems Physical Demands Lifting: Up to 100 lbs occasionally Carrying: Up to 50 lbs occasionally Standing/Walking: Frequently (31–65%) Bending/Kneeling: Frequently Pushing/Pulling: Frequently Requires reading, writing, reasoning, speaking, and keyboarding Working at NGHS means being part of something special: a team invested in you as a person, an employee, and in helping you reach your goals.
