- SUMMARY
- OF
- POSITION: Perform mammography exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care.
- Essential
- Functions:
- Perform all mammography exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care in a timely manner.
- Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it.
- Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient’s medical records.
- Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
- Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments.
- QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- RT (R) from an approved educational program required.
- 6-12 months mammography experience preferred.
- RT (R)(M) registration required within one year of working in modality and maintained in good standing.
- Tomo experience preferred.
- CPR certification required within 6 month of hire and maintained in good standing.
- Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods and techniques required.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
- Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
- Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
- Must be competent in using a computer keyboard, email, MS Word, Centricity and PACS or similar applications. DAILY

- JOB: Requires a moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, turning and repetitive motion; some bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment. Ability to assist patients to walk, sit, stand and move to and from the exam table, wheelchair and/or Hoyer lift.
