The Community Activities Specialist provides structured, individualized support to individuals in accordance with their program plans to foster independence and community integration. They assist with social skills, budgeting, and work habits while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

At MDH Network, we serve as a source of support and guidance to empower and improve the lives of Individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, or forensic involvement through person-centered planning.

With over 30 residential facilities (“homes”), and several supportive, non-residential programs located throughout Southern California, we strive to support the Individuals to live their best lives.

Our Community Integration Program, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and reliable Community Activities Specialist (CAS) to support Individuals enrolled in our In-Home Day Program. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in developmental disabilities services who are committed to person-centered, community-based support.

About the Role

The Community Activities Specialist provides structured, individualized support to Individuals in accordance with their Individual Program Plans (IPP) and Individual Service Plans (ISP). The CAS supports community integration, skill development, and independence while ensuring compliance with HCBS, Title 17, and Title 22 regulations.

We are seeking a professional who is committed to the mental health and developmental services sector and skilled in working directly with Individuals to provide support in areas such as social skills, budgeting, self-advocacy, work habits, and community access. As part of our In-Home Day Program model, Individuals who experience challenges while in the community may return to their home setting to continue programming in a supportive and structured environment, as needed.

  • Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of full-time experience supporting Individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • 1+ year of experience supporting Individuals with emotional and behavioral needs
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English (Spanish/English bilingual preferred)
  • Additional Requirements
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Reliable personal vehicle and current auto insurance (will be required to use personal vehicle to transport Individuals)
  • Available to work from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Pay Range

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience

Requirements
