About the role

The Staff Technologist performs ultrasound procedures and provides essential patient care using imaging modalities. They are responsible for exercising professional judgment and initiating life support measures when necessary.

Position purpose

The Staff Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities, performs ultrasound procedures, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to Ultrasound procedures, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and the Medical Staff.

Position qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology, either hospital-based or college degree program.

Associates of Applied Sciences or above.

Experience: Competency in components of Medical Imaging practice as appropriate

Licenses/Certificates

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Advanced ARRT Registration is preferred.

Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

CPR (BLS)

Working Conditions

Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning personal, financial, medical and employment status of patients of SCH and their families.

Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.

Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.

Must participate in safety instructional programs.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiology Technology program with at least an Associate of Applied Sciences degree. Required certifications include ARRT and ARDMS registration, as well as CPR (BLS) certification.
