Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states. Reports to the Director of Laboratory Services.
Essential Functions
Follows standardized procedures and prepares patient samples for testing.
Collects and analyzes bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples for transfusions.
Operates laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits; reports and documents findings according to organizational standards.
Performs automated testing using computerized instruments and equipment.
Conducts Quality Assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and results.
Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and hold a Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT. The role requires the ability to safely operate laboratory equipment and maintain accurate records of test results.
