Staff Nurse - Burn Unit - 90%25 - Day/Night

Unit

• This is a 17-bed unit equipped with a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy room for burn/wound dressing care, a pediatric playroom and rehabilitation gym. The unit cares for both adult and pediatric burn patients as well as an adult trauma population requiring intermediate monitoring care. The unit has both inpatient and outpatient (Burn Clinic) facilities. Our staff also provide burn outreach and education and annually host a Burn Camp for burn patient survivors. The American College of Surgeons designated our unit as a Level I Burn Center since 1996. Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include but are not limited to: Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions Percent of Time: 90%25 Schedule: Day and Night rotating shifts, will include an every other weekend and every other holiday rotation Location: Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa Salary: $61,183 minimum at 100%25 effort to commensurate *This does not include differentials. Salary will vary based on years of experience and percent of effort.
