The Speech Pathologist provides diagnostic evaluations and treatment intervention programs for patients with communication disorders and oropharyngeal dysphagia. They are also responsible for supervising rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers while providing care across all age groups.
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school. Required certifications include CCC-SLP from ASHA, licensure by the Georgia Board of Examiners, and Basic Life Support (BCLS).
Overview Provides speech-language pathology services by coordinating consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Responsible for the supervision of rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers. May be responsible for orientation and ongoing guidance of assigned staff.
