Per-Diem Overnight Crisis Clinician

The Child and Family Guidance Center is currently seeking a Per Diem MCIS Overnight Clinician in our Bridgeport Mobile Crisis Intervention Services group.

Per-Diem MCIS Overnight Clinician This “as-needed” role is filled by a Master’s-level clinician who provides coverage when Full-Time Overnight Clinicians are unavailable.

Responsibilities

include delivering crisis intervention services to children (ages 0–18) experiencing behavioral or mental health crises. The goal is to offer accessible, community-based care that reduces emergency department visits and avoids hospitalization when a lower level of care is safe and appropriate.

Shift

9pm- 6am: Sunday- Saturday, as needed.

• The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering the following essential functions:
• Maintain communication with Day Time Mobile Crisis Staff, to ensure effective communication regarding all calls and cases.
• Conduct mobile crisis assessments and develop individualized crisis plans in collaboration with families.
• Screen crisis referrals via phone and determine appropriate response.
• Coordinate timely and effective clinical interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
• Provide short-term therapeutic support to families as needed.
• Facilitate case management services when appropriate.
• Engage relevant social systems to inform intervention planning and care coordination.
• Arrange appropriate aftercare services and follow-up.
• Perform additional tasks or assignments as directed by the Leadership Team.

The following qualifications are required for this position

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related human services field; eligible for CT state licensure.
