The NP/PA will perform patient assessments, diagnoses, and interventions in an inpatient ENT setting while collaborating with physicians. They will also provide clinic coverage, assist in surgeries, and manage a patient volume under physician supervision.

The NP/PA, Surgical - Inpatient ENT functions in a collaborative practice with physicians in the inpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician. Provides clinic coverage and may round for physicians during periods of absence.
Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital rounding/consultation, assisting in surgery if appropriate and prescriptive authority.
1-2 years of acute care experience highly preferred. Acute Care Certification required (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner)
This is a part-time position - 20 hours per week (2 10-hour shifts). Weekends included on a rotating schedule.
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Physician Assistants
Current Texas professional physician assistant license.
Certified as a PA-C
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required when assigned to Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery
